Job Description

Our 12‑bed Cardiac/Neuro Progressive Care Unit specializes in caring for cardiac and neurological patients, including pre‑ and post‑procedure cardiac cases and acute stroke patients. As the hospital’s stepdown unit, we manage higher‑acuity medical‑surgical patients transitioning to or from ICU-level care, with a typical daily census of 11–12 and an average length of stay of two days. Nurses maintain a 4:1 ratio, supported by nursing assistants at 6:1.

Job Responsibility

  • Providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
  • Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by American Heart Association within 6 months of hire.
