Job Description

Baptist Health is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at our Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville location. This is a PRN, Days position. This Registered Nurse position has a call requirement, and it is self-scheduled based on department needs and will require a 40-minute call response time. This role qualifies for competitive differentials and additional call compensation.

Job Responsibility

Monitoring post-operative patients' levels of recovery and consciousness from anesthesia
Treating pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia and administering medication as prescribed
Regularly checking vital signs to quickly interrupt any potential issues
Educating patients and their families on post-surgery care
Updating charts, patient files, and medical records
Providing for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
Supervision of care provided by supportive personnel and coordination of care provided by ancillary services
Including patients and significant other (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care
Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care
Coordination and preparation of assigned room/case, assessment of patient care needs and the anticipation of needs of the case

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree - Nursing
2-3 years Surgical Services Experience
2-3 years Critical Care Nursing Experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
Licensed Registered Nurse Required

Nice to have

Master's Degree - Nursing
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
Conscious Sedation Certification Preferred
Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) Preferred
Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) Preferred
