You will have the time and support to make a real difference every day. *Full training and Preceptorship programme will be provided to help you build confidence and develop your career in this specialist area. Ridgeway Secure inpatient Services are looking to recruit diverse, dynamic and enthusiastic registered nurses to support the recovery and rehabilitation of our service users. You will be working closely with our external partners and stakeholders to ensure the right care in a timely manner to this patient group. Ridgeway provides a specialist service for adults with a mental health disorder, learning disability or autism who exhibit behaviours of concern to others and to themselves. The service provides individualised, comprehensive packages of care within Medium and Low Secure inpatient settings and has links to High Secure services and prisons. The post holder may be required to work on any of the 3 Pathway's outside their offered post **. The 3 pathways are; Group 1 - Male, Group 2-Male Autism/Rehab or Group 3 - Female. All 3 pathways have both low and medium secure wards, covering mental health and learning disability or autism.**There are no guarantees of a specific ward if successful at interview. Job Responsibility:

  • Provide a centre of excellence within secure inpatient care
  • Practice a full range of psychiatric skills & interventions from assessment, treatment, and recovery
  • Provide high quality care and treatment to patients with Mental Health and or a Learning Disability
  • Work with internal and external partners including working collaboratively and closely with prison colleagues, probation and existing services
  • Shift work, including occasional nights, on a rotational basis

Requirements:

  • Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council RNMH or RNLD (RNSC - CAMHS only ) - RGN (If appropriate - Advert must indicate if the role is open to RGN nurses to apply)
  • To be recognised practice assessor / mentor or work towards in an agreed timescale
  • Trained Clinical Supervisor (within 6 month probationary period)
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
  • Working with people with mental ill health/learning disabilities
  • Working in a person centred therapeutic organisation
  • Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers
  • Working in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Working in partnership with other agencies
  • Evidence based knowledge of best practice in caring for patients in the designated field.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act)
  • Understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice
  • Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice
  • Clinical Governance and its application in practice.
  • Confident working knowledge of clinical medicines management, including administration of injections
