Job Description

A full-time Registered Nurse (RN) is needed to provide specialized support for students with medical needs in a school setting in Cambridge, MD. This unique role involves accompanying students on the bus to and from school, as well as providing nursing care during school hours. You will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of high school students requiring consistent nursing attention throughout the school day and transport.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide nursing care to students with medical needs during school hours
  • Accompany students on daily bus routes, providing health support during transit
  • Monitor and assess student health status regularly, implementing care plans as appropriate
  • Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to manage student health needs
  • Maintain accurate and confidential health records according to school and state regulations
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies or changes in student health conditions

Requirements

  • Active Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license is required
  • Experience working with school-age children or in a school nursing capacity preferred
  • Ability to provide care on the bus during transport as well as in the school setting
