Job Description

The Level 1 Registered Nurse (RN) in the Med/Surg 1st Acute unit provides safe, high-quality nursing care to adult patients in an acute care hospital setting. This part-time role supports both day and night shifts, delivering patient-centered care while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide direct nursing care to Med/Surg acute care patients
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as ordered
  • Monitor patient condition and respond promptly to changes in status
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Follow all hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control practices
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing leadership, and care teams

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
  • Level 1 RN experience or demonstrated competency in acute care nursing
  • Prior Med/Surg experience preferred
  • BLS required
  • Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills
