Position Summary: The Heart Center at Boston Children’s Hospital stands at the forefront of pediatric cardiovascular care, renowned worldwide for pioneering treatments that have significantly enhanced survival rates for patients of all ages with congenital or acquired heart defects. Our comprehensive care extends across a spectrum of inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring patients receive the highest quality treatment and support. Our facilities include: State-of-the-art 44-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit; Dedicated 52-bed Acute Cardiac Care Unit; Cutting-edge Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology suite featuring 3 Cardiac Catheterization Labs and 2 Electrophysiology Labs and an 18-bed Recovery Room; 4 specialized Cardiac Procedure Rooms; 5 advanced Cardiac Operating Rooms; An onsite Outpatient Clinic, supplemented by 12 off-site outpatient cardiac satellite clinics. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients with complex cardiac conditions, working within a supportive team environment to deliver high-quality care.

Job Responsibility

  • Providing pre, intra (circulating role) and post procedural/operative care to pediatric patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, electrophysiology procedures, cardiac surgery and other procedures requiring general anesthesia in a dynamic, academic medical center
  • Working in a collaborative environment with opportunities for both learning and career growth
  • Maintain a flexible schedule, Monday through Friday working 40 hours per week with day and overnight rotations, some on-call required weekday nights and weekends

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in nursing
  • 2 years Pediatric RN experience required
  • Cardiac, critical care or PACU RN experience preferred
  • Exceptional clinical skills in order to support patients with complex congenital heart disease
  • Current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse (RN)
