Job Description

Registered Nurse (RN) – Atrium Health Mercy PreSurgery Holding. The PreSurgery unit features 27 beds and prepares patients for various surgeries, including orthopedic, spine, bariatric, general, and vascular procedures. Our environment encourages teamwork, engagement, patient satisfaction, ongoing growth, and excellence in care. Some shifts will require being on call.

Job Responsibility

  • Assessing and admitting patients before surgery
  • inserting IVs
  • giving preoperative medications
  • preparing surgical sites
  • maintaining accurate documentation
  • educating patients and families

  • working closely with the healthcare team
  • providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process
  • using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication
  • leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
