Job Description:

Baptist Hospital is seeking Registered Nurses (RNs) for a full-time position with variable shifts and a rotating on-call requirement with a 40-minute response time. This role is eligible for competitive shift differentials and additional on-call compensation. This Registered Nurse position is based at Wolfson Children’s Hospital. This position is designated as requiring a level II Background screening.

Job Responsibility:

  • Utilize the nursing process to deliver safe, evidence-based, and compassionate care
  • Demonstrate accountability for coordinating, planning, and evaluating patient care across the perianesthesia continuum
  • Provide leadership and oversight to support personnel
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary and ancillary teams
  • Partner with patients and families to develop individualized plans of care
  • Educate patients and families
  • Prepare and coordinate assigned rooms and cases while anticipating patient needs
  • Flexibility to cross-train Pre-Op and POPS

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree - Nursing
  • 2-3 years Surgical Services Experience
  • 2-3 years Critical Care Nursing Experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
  • Licensed Registered Nurse Required

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor's Degree - Nursing
  • PICU and/or Emergency Department experience
  • Professional nursing engagement such as certification, Unit Council participation, shared governance, Excel involvement, and/or Charge RN experience
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Conscious Sedation Certification
  • Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)
  • Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN)
