Job Description:

Baptist Health is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at our Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville location. This is a FT position. This Registered Nurse position has a call requirement, and it is self-scheduled based on department needs and will require a 40-minute call response time. This role qualifies for competitive differentials and additional call compensation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Monitoring post-operative patients' levels of recovery and consciousness from anesthesia
  • Treating pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia and administering medication as prescribed
  • Regularly checking vital signs to quickly interrupt any potential issues
  • Educating patients and their families on post-surgery care
  • Updating charts, patient files, and medical records
  • Providing for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
  • Supervision of care provided by supportive personnel and coordination of care provided by ancillary services
  • Including patients and significant other (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care
  • Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care
  • Coordination and preparation of assigned room/case, assessment of patient care needs and the anticipation of needs of the case

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree - Nursing
  • 2-3 years Surgical Services Experience
  • 2-3 years Critical Care Nursing Experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
  • Licensed Registered Nurse Required

  • Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)
