This position is a joint partnership between Orthopedics/Sports Medicine and the Cerebral Palsy and Spasticity Center. The Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Department provides care for patients with a wide range of orthopedic conditions and sports injuries. The Cerebral Palsy and Spasticity Center is one of the world’s leading diagnostic and treatment centers for children with cerebral palsy (CP) and spasticity. Our clinicians have extensive experience in treating the full spectrum of cerebral palsy — from children with limited effects of the disorder to those with multiple complex medical issues.
Job Responsibility
Working in a busy orthopedic clinic that provides comprehensive and quality care to pediatric patients and families for a variety of orthopedic needs, including congenital issues and trauma related problems
Supporting the orthopedic physicians in our Cerebral Palsy program
Providing direct patient care and patient education independently and in collaboration with team
Telephone triage in a team based model for the orthopedic department
Handling portal messages
Acting as a clinical resource for administrative staff
Communicating with patients, families and health care providers
Care Coordination
Seeing patients at the main campus (Longwood), Waltham & Needham satellite campuses
Working Monday – Friday four 10 hour days, 7am -530pm
Requirements
A BSN degree
Minimum 1 year pediatric and/or ambulatory nurse experience
MA RN license
Nice to have
3-5 years preferred
Previous experience with pediatric complex-care patients preferred
