The 13-bed mixed Medical ICU/Coronary Contained Unit specializes in Pre-Cardiac Transplants, Congestive Heart Failure, Acute MI, CRRT, neurological patients and complex ventilation using the latest equipment and technologies. The Charge and Code RNs are readily available to assist with complex patients. Our physician partners are true professors who are willing to invest the time and energy to provide education specific to treatment and research. The unit is actively involved in promoting community health. Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care. Requirements:
Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing
Must have an active California RN license
BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date
Minimum two (2) years of recent acute care RN experience in adult ICU
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage multiple levels of information and responsibilities and to quickly assess moderately complex problems to develop potential solutions
Must possess excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, physicians, and patients verbally and in writing
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively with team members. Demonstrates a willingness to adapt and embrace new approaches to support team objectives
Nice to have:
BSN
Experience in a teaching facility
CCRN, CSC, and/or CMC certification(s)
Experience with cardiopulmonary, neuro, and/or cardiac care
