The Same Day Interventional Surgery unit at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center is a 41 bed cardiac patient-focused unit, with 33 beds primarily supporting post‑procedural care for Cath Lab, EP, and IR patients, and 8 beds designated for the Cardiac Observation Unit. Supporting patients undergoing scheduled interventional and procedural care who are expected to be discharged the same day. The unit focuses on pre‑procedure preparation, post‑procedure monitoring, and discharge coordination for patients receiving minimally invasive or image‑guided interventions. The unit operates 24 hours solely to support observation patients and secures overnight at 10:30 pm. Procedural patients are monitored following moderate sedation, with some requiring overnight stays.
Job Responsibility:
Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum
Requirements:
BSN in Nursing
Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
