As a Registered Nurse in a Women's Center, you will deliver compassionate, high-quality care across the full continuum, from labor and delivery through postpartum recovery, newborn and special care nursery, and pediatrics. Job Responsibility:
Provide direct nursing care to patients within the Women's Center, including labor and delivery, post-delivery, post-surgical, newborn nursery, special care nursery, and pediatric patients
Perform comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments for assigned patients
Develop, update, and individualize nursing care plans in collaboration with patients and their support systems
Implement and evaluate nursing care plans and contribute to the overall medical plan of care
Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care
Review and acknowledge provider orders using a computerized provider order entry system
Accurately document patient care, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record
Prepare and administer medications following the five rights of medication administration
Apply sound clinical judgment and demonstrate strong critical-thinking skills in dynamic clinical situations
Actively support team members and contribute to a positive, patient-centered care environment
Deliver excellent customer service through clear communication, empathy, and professionalism
Perform additional duties as assigned to support unit operations
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
Current Iowa Registered Nurse license or compact state nursing license eligible to practice in Iowa
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification required within 12 months, training provided
Basic fetal monitoring course required within 12 months
Ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask in a fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
Commitment to patient safety, quality outcomes, and compassionate care
Customer-service mindset with attention to detail and follow-through
Prior experience in maternal child health or medical-surgical nursing preferred
Nice to have:
Previous experience in maternal child nursing or medical-surgical nursing
