Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

• Provide direct nursing care to patients within the Women's Center, including labor and delivery, post-delivery, post-surgical, newborn nursery, special care nursery, and pediatric patients
• Perform comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments for assigned patients
• Develop, update, and individualize nursing care plans in collaboration with patients and their support systems
• Implement and evaluate nursing care plans and contribute to the overall medical plan of care
• Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care
• Review and acknowledge provider orders using a computerized provider order entry system
• Accurately document patient care, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record
• Prepare and administer medications following the five rights of medication administration
• Apply sound clinical judgment and demonstrate strong critical-thinking skills in dynamic clinical situations
• Actively support team members and contribute to a positive, patient-centered care environment
• Deliver excellent customer service through clear communication, empathy, and professionalism
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support unit operations

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
• Current Iowa Registered Nurse license or compact state nursing license eligible to practice in Iowa
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification required within 12 months, training provided
• Basic fetal monitoring course required within 12 months
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
• Commitment to patient safety, quality outcomes, and compassionate care
• Customer-service mindset with attention to detail and follow-through
• Prior experience in maternal child health or medical-surgical nursing preferred

Previous experience in maternal child nursing or medical-surgical nursing
