Registered Nurse - Hillcrest 6W PCU/IMU

The 6th Floor is a 45 bed acute care progressive care unit at UC San Diego Health's Hillcrest Campus located near downtown San Diego. The unit provides care for a population of high acuity adult medical-surgical patients, oncology and infectious disease. Team members demonstrate self-determination, an ability to adapt to complex and rapidly changing environments, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, provide care that is patient and family centered, participate in shared governance councils and committees, and are committed to contributing to professional practice that generates quality outcomes and improves the Experience of both our patients and our team members. Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.
