Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

• Performs thorough patient assessments and determines priorities of care based on clinical presentation, risk factors, and urgency
• Conducts risk assessments to identify potential complications and initiate appropriate interventions
• Collects accurate and adequate blood and urine specimens using proper technique, equipment, and safety protocols
• Correctly labels and processes specimens to ensure accuracy and traceability
• Ensures timely delivery of specimens to the laboratory, coordinating courier services or specimen pickup with outside agencies as required
• Maintains clear, timely, and accurate documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members, ensuring clarity and continuity of care
• Demonstrates strong problem‑solving skills by assessing situations, identifying issues, and implementing appropriate solutions in a timely manner
• Operates clinical and diagnostic equipment safely and competently, ensuring proper function and reporting any malfunction
• Maintains proficiency in required clinical skills and adheres to established standards of practice
• Works collaboratively within the healthcare team, promoting a positive, cooperative, and supportive work environment
• Demonstrates initiative by anticipating patient and departmental needs and taking proactive steps to address them

• Minimum of one year of Emergency Department or Critical Care experience required
• Ability to perform CPR in accordance with current clinical standards
• Completion of Baby Friendly Education within 6 months of hire
• PALS certification required within 6 months of hire
• TNCC certification required within 1 year of hire
• EPIC Preferred
• RN - Registered Nurse
• BLS - Basic Life Saving certification
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• NIH - Stroke Certification
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school
