Registered Nurse - Critical Care Part-Time Nights. Coordinates patient care planning with other disciplines utilizing the principles of the nursing process and critical thinking skills in order to maintain patient safety and well-being. (Some positions might be assigned to critical care areas requiring specialized training.)
Job Responsibility
Coordinates patient care planning with other disciplines
Provides direct patient care and evaluates outcomes
Writes nursing histories and develops care plans
Receives shift reports and makes rounds
Notifies physician of unusual events
Works with interdisciplinary team and reinforces patient instruction
Evaluates outcomes of patient care
Identifies workplace health and safety issues
Provides direct patient care using aseptic techniques
May manage IV lines and ensure sterile techniques
May administer pharmacological vasodilator medications
Complies with policies and procedures
Orients and educates assigned personnel
Behavioral Health RN: Assesses psychological needs and provides discharge planning
EP-RN Specialist: Assists with EP procedures and operates recording systems
EP Coordinator: Oversees EP area and coordinates with Cath Lab lead
Adheres to TMCH values and safety standards
Performs related duties as assigned
Requirements
Current RN licensure permitting work in the State of Arizona
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Additional certification may be required per department
One year of nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Knowledge of direct patient care and critical care procedures and techniques
Skill in communicating clearly with staff and physicians
Skill in reading 12-lead EKG
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence
Ability to listen and interpret instructions
Ability to speak and communicate effectively
Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions
