UC San Diego Health is a Magnet designated organization. The Burn Center includes eight critical care beds to treat the most seriously burned patients, 10 intermediate beds, and a full-time burn outpatient clinic. There are approximately 400 inpatients, 3,000 burn clinic visits and 2,500 Wound Center patient visits per year.
Job Responsibility:
Provides direct care to acute burn patients, infants through to seniors, using the nursing process
Collaborates with other disciplines to develop multidisciplinary plan and care
Promotes independence and self-care through education
Skilled in pain management, wound care assessment and pediatric sedation recovery
Requirements:
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
RN license issued by the State of California
BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get UCSD ART within six (6) months of hire date
Current PALS certification, or required to obtain within six (6) months of hire
Two (2) years of adult acute care ICU RN experience
Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
