The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition is part of Boston Children’s Hospital, ranked as one of the top children’s hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. We provide families with individualized treatment plans and access to more specialized care than any other hospital. Our team of pediatric gastroenterologists, hepatologists, dietitians, psychologists, clinicians and nurses is dedicated to helping children with common or complex gastrointestinal, liver, and nutritional problems.
Job Responsibility:
Provide direct patient care in the clinic setting, facilitate patient flow, manage enteral tube, cecostomy and ostomy problems and other patient needs during clinic session
Provide care coordination between clinic visits by communicating with families, health care team members and community agencies
Act as primary triage contact for patient questions and phone calls. Assists with prior authorizations, school forms/letters and prescription refills. Collaborates daily with physician team and administrative staff
Provide comprehensive patient education for patients with new diagnoses as well as those starting new treatments
Identify patient educational needs and work with other team members on the development of educational materials and educational programs
Plan, organize and oversee policies and procedures designed to improve the patient/family experience

Requirements:
BSN
A background in working in children with chronic illnesses
2-3 years pediatric nursing experience preferred
MA RN license
