Job Responsibility:

  • Perform long-term video EEG monitoring on patients in both EMU and ICU settings
  • Demonstrate proficiency in pattern recognition
  • Perform job functions following ACNS Guidelines for Neurodiagnostic procedures
  • Perform various types of video EEG recordings according to ACNS Guidelines for interpretation by the reading physician
  • Identify EEG patterns and artifacts
  • Communicate with attending physician for analysis and interpretation
  • Utilize International 10-20 measurement system to connect leads to the patients head and run EEG study
  • Perform prescribed testing as ordered by physicians
  • Reviews patient's history and educates patient about procedure
  • Monitors and documents patient's condition and responds to and reports any seizure symptoms

Requirements:

  • Accredited Program: Electroencephalograph (Required)
  • CPR Cert American Heart (CPR AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
  • Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (REEGT) - American Board of Registration of EEG Technologist (ABRET)
  • One (1) year of EEG experience (which can include time in clinicals)
  • Graduate of an Electro-neuro-diagnostic technology program accredited by Commission Accreditation on Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Equivalent EEG training program
