Join our friendly, multi-disciplinary collaborative team and reignite your passion for midwifery at Western Health. We are seeking passionate Midwives to join our dynamic Maternity Services team, known for its strong midwifery culture and supportive environment. We are now able to offer employment working in low-risk, all-risk or Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander (Galinjera) teams with the option of providing homebirth services. Western Health is offering sponsorship to internationally qualified Midwives who are looking to move to Melbourne, Australia.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver safe, high-quality, woman-centered maternity care in line with Western Health standards
  • Collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary teams across various maternity care areas
  • Promote evidence-based midwifery practices and professional excellence
  • Support patient education, informed decision-making, and cultural safety
  • Engage in continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the maternity setting

Requirements:

  • Current Certification: AHPRA certification as a Registered Midwife
  • Experience: Minimum 12 months experience as a Registered Midwife in an Australian hospital setting (excluding placements)
  • Passionate Advocates: Dedicated to woman-centered care, advocacy, and education
  • Clinical Excellence: Possess excellent clinical skills with evidence-based judgment
  • Collaborative Spirit: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to Development: Desire and experience in undertaking professional development activities to enhance nursing/midwifery expertise
