An independent fostering agency based in West Yorkshire, is seeking a dedicated and ambitious professional to join their growing team as a Registered Manager. This hybrid role offers a fantastic opportunity for either an established manager or an experienced Senior Practitioner/Team Manager ready to step up into leadership. The current Registered Manager, after 14 years in management, is moving into the Responsible Individual (RI) role, ensuring excellent internal support and a seamless transition for the successful candidate.
Job Responsibility
Owning, coordinating, and leading the day-to-day social work functions and operational activities of the fostering agency
Ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of services in strict compliance with the Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011/13, National Minimum Standards, and Ofsted frameworks
Acting as the primary point of contact and operational lead during Ofsted inspections, supported directly by the Quality Assurance Manager / Responsible Individual
Providing direct professional line management, regular supervision, annual appraisals, and performance management to the social work staff
Overseeing the end-to-end assessment pipeline for prospective foster carers, including the quality assurance of Stage 1 and Stage 2 Form F assessments and annual reviews
Managing and monitoring independent social workers engaged by the service to ensure assessments are robust, timely, and compliant
Acting as the lead operational Safeguarding Officer and Complaints Officer for the organisation, responding to child protection concerns, allegations, and Schedule 6/7 matters
Developing, maintaining, and publishing the Annual Training Calendar for foster carers and coordinating the delivery of Skills to Foster and induction programmes
Promoting placement stability by supporting placement officers with matching decisions and collaborating with Local Authorities to prevent placement breakdowns
Conducting annual consultations with foster carers and ensuring staff capture the feedback of looked-after children to continuously drive service improvements
Requirements
NVQ Level 5 qualification, or the willingness to complete the training funded by the agency
Minimum of 4 years post-qualified frontline experience alongside 2 years of experience at a Team Leader or Manager level
Direct experience supervising foster carers within an Independent Fostering Agency (IFA) or Local Authority setting
Experience completing independent Form F assessments
