Our client, a well-established provider of residential child care across East Lancashire, is seeking a dedicated Registered Manager to lead their welcoming home in Blackburn, supporting up to 4 young people with diverse needs including Learning Disabilities or Physical Disabilities, non-verbal communication, high-end autism, Makaton, and sign language.
Job Responsibility
Leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment
Overseeing care planning, safeguarding, and compliance with Ofsted standards
Developing and maintaining strong relationships with children, families, and external professionals
Supporting and mentoring staff to deliver high-quality care and achieve KPIs
Managing budgets, occupancy, and ensuring the home meets its financial targets, including bonuses
Requirements
Experience working with children and young people with LD, PD, autism, and complex needs
Strong leadership skills with a proactive approach
Knowledge of safeguarding, care standards, and Ofsted regulations
Ability to motivate and develop a team
Flexibility and resilience to adapt to changing needs
Understanding of personal care and communication methods such as Makaton and sign language (advantageous but not essential)
Proven experience in a similar setting or as a Deputy Manager ready to step up
Knowledge of safeguarding and care compliance
Relevant childcare or social care qualification
Safeguarding and first aid certifications (desirable)
