Job Description

As a Registered Nurse within our Inpatient Unit, you will provide high-quality, specialist palliative and end of life care to patients and those important to them. Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will deliver holistic, person-centred care that prioritises comfort, dignity and quality of life. You will assess and respond to complex clinical needs, support patients and families through challenging and emotional times, and contribute to a calm and therapeutic ward environment. The role also offers opportunities to take on shift leadership responsibilities, support junior colleagues, and contribute to the ongoing development of inpatient services.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RGN) with a valid NMC registration
  • Experience of delivering compassionate, high-quality care as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong communication, organizational and teamwork skills
  • Confidence to work sensitively with patients, families and colleagues in emotionally complex situations
  • A genuine passion for palliative and end of life care
  • Commitment to providing holistic, person-centred support
  • Motivated to continue developing skills and knowledge

Nice to have

  • Experience in palliative care, oncology or a hospice setting
  • A post-registration qualification in palliative care or mentorship
  • Familiarity with electronic patient record systems, such as SystmOne
