Job Description:

We are looking for a Registered Conveyancer or File Manager to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and fast-paced team in a full-service South Australian law firm. You will be passionate about your work and have a strong commitment to providing the highest quality of client service. You will enjoy working collaboratively with our Conveyancing and Property teams.

Job Responsibility:

  • Managing conveyancing files from beginning to end with minimal supervision
  • Overseeing all aspects of conveyancing matters, including residential, agricultural and commercial transactions
  • Providing advice and guidance to a broad range of clients
  • Preparing and submitting Land Titles Office forms, including land divisions
  • Organising settlements with all parties and conducting settlements electronically via PEXA (or by paper as necessary)
  • Acting on transfers, refinance matters, discharge of mortgages, etc
  • Building and maintaining relationships with new and existing referrers

Requirements:

  • Either experience as a Registered Conveyancer or a File Manager working towards registration
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and proven experience with PEXA
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently
  • A professional approach when interacting with clients and team members
  • A high attention to detail and great organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Early investigation, CCTV review, statement gathering and assessment regarding liability. This involves attending on site, reviewing, photographing, gaining CCTV downloads, and gathering all relevant information at the earliest possible opportunity
  • Engage with insurers and where relevant external solicitors on litigated files and pro-actively manage a portfolio of ongoing issues, together with investigation of all new incidents
  • Work as part of a team, liaising with internal and external personnel in a professional and proactive manner including attending engineering inspections as and when required
  • Providing training and guidance to all managers in terms of accident prevention, best practice, and reduced incidents. This involves sharing statistics, setting targets, and highlighting ongoing issues that are dangerous or can cause difficulties
  • Understand the litigation process, experienced in attending court, meeting timelines, and ensuring correct documentation and its accuracy
  • Must be organized, acting as own secretary, must file and retain relevant information, keep up to date files and provide monthly updates in terms of the overall claims picture
