Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is the team behind the cloud. Within CO&I, the Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC) organization is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft’s cloud business. The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects. We are looking for a passionate, high-energy individual to help build the cloud datacenters that power the world’s largest online services.
Job Responsibility:
Developing sourcing strategies across several key construction professional services categories
Establish and continuously improve standard templates for data collection and breakdowns
Collate data and report to our Leadership Team on key performance metrics and category health
Establish and maintain regional benchmarking tools
Provide insights and recommendations based on benchmarking outcomes
Support the consolidation of regional sourcing and spend data
Support should-cost modelling and comparative analysis
Enable better visibility and reporting through structured datasets
Establishment of appropriate sourcing strategies
Manage the sourcing, assessment, and onboarding of potential new suppliers
Gather internal and external market data to inform sourcing strategies
Own the RFI / RFP process for the establishment of regional framework agreements
Oversee supplier performance and compliance
Conduct quarterly business reviews
Develop and maintain category management and allocation plans
Manage the drafting, negotiation, and execution of contracts
Applies an end-to-end understanding of the trade-offs between Microsoft and key suppliers
Manages supplier scorecard process
Ensures adherence to policy
Ensures consistency, timeliness, quality, and accuracy of deliverables
Processes or supports stakeholder procurement requests
Executes contracts and complies with established control processes
Integrates business specifications into request for information (RFI) and/or request for proposal (RFP) processes
Manages contract and price negotiation activities
Defines, maintains, and executes on sourcing strategies
Develops pricing and negotiation strategies
Drives early business engagements for complex business areas
Collaborates with suppliers and leads on-boarding processes

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Supply Chain, Business, Finance or related field
5+ years post graduate experience in construction supply chain and/or construction procurement specifically with large complex capital projects or equivalent experience
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
Must pass Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
Nice to have:
Strong commercial understanding and experience of driving and developing key contractual components of categories (Architect / Engineer, Commissioning, Project Management, Cost Management and other construction services suppliers)
Knowledge of construction projects and teams
Datacenter industry preferable and / or mission critical experience managing a variety of project delivery methods
Demonstrate continuous improvement
Strong data management skillset
Ability to work independently and within a matrixed environment
Technical ability to review contracts
