As Regional Security Lead for Southcone SOCO covers Chile, Argentina, Uruguay & Paraguay. You will be based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Security Lead will work closely with the Regional Security Manager (RSM) for Brazil & Soco and the team, to execute the Global Security Program and oversee the security of Uber's people, properties, and assets throughout the Southcone. You will own and manage all incidents within the region from start to finish. You will be responsible for the operational management of the security personnel of each Security Vendor in the subregion. You will own and execute tactical, day-to-day local operations. You will work cross-functionally with local and regional leadership and stakeholders to support and execute on projects and assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of all security processes in the SOCO region.
Job Responsibility:
Responsible for the operational coordination of the security vendors of the regions, establishing metrics, and implementing security policies
Coordinate local and remote security projects and provide security advisory for internal & external projects regionwide
Develop and implement multiple security plans and programs in SOCO
Conduct Site Security Assessments and physical security reviews to propose improvements on the security measures
Conduct Event Security Assessments, advise and propose security measures accordingly
Maintain a close and proactive relationship with internal and external stakeholders
Provide assistance and security guidance to internal stakeholders in projects, launches, events, and openings, among others
Foster a feedback loop with cross-functional teams to continually measure program and vendor effectiveness
Manage security personnel at all sites in the SOCO region, including recruitment, selection, orientation, training, development, and retention. Provide performance feedback and maintain a close relationship with the security vendors’ management
Manage the budget of the security vendors in the region as well as control special services expenses
Develop, in collaboration with the security vendor, the manual of instructions and activities to be carried out by security personnel at each SOCO site
Reports security metrics to the Regional Security Manager on a monthly basis
Set Key Performance Indicators for the year the vendor must hit (KPI & QBR)
Maintain SOCO security expense and billing databases up to date
Requirements:
9+ years of experience in a security coordination or management role in private/public organizations, law enforcement, or military/police institutions
Recent hands-on experience throughout LATAM is mandatory, and broader experience outside the region is a bonus
Ability to manage security challenges in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment
Excellent communicator
must be articulate and persuasive with the ability to communicate at all levels, both internally and externally
Proficiency in AI tools to be able to complement operations
Able to scale with the business and thrive in a rapid growth environment
Working knowledge of local laws and regulations that govern security, criminal, and regulatory matters
Proven ability to work with large data and experience identifying and driving process and system improvement opportunities by monitoring metrics, analyzing data, and partnering with internal teams
A well-established professional network of security contacts within the region
Capable of fostering a culture of Trust, Honesty, and Integrity
Strong leadership, teamwork, and collaborative skills
Advanced proficiency in English and fluent Spanish
Must be capable of creating and managing key performance metrics
Able to work independently with little direction
Availability of time to address incidents outside office hours
