The South East Region of British Cycling is seeking a committed and organised Regional Secretary to join the Regional Board. This is an important volunteer position that supports the smooth running of regional governance and helps shape the future of cycling across the South East. The role contributes to the region’s ongoing development across all areas of cycling, from grassroots and recreational activity through to competitive disciplines. You will work closely with the Regional Chair and Board Members to ensure effective communication, high‑quality administration, and compliance with British Cycling’s governance standards.
Job Responsibility:
Acting as the primary organiser for all Regional Board meetings, including scheduling, circulating agendas, and preparing meeting packs
Taking accurate minutes and ensuring actions are recorded, tracked, and followed up
Maintaining clear records of Board business, decisions, and documentation in line with British Cycling expectations
Supporting the planning and delivery of the Region’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), including managing timelines, papers, and formal requirements
Acting as a central point of contact for regional correspondence and ensuring communication flows effectively between Board members and relevant stakeholders
Helping the Board ensure good governance practices are followed throughout the annual cycle of meetings and activities
Requirements:
Be organised, reliable and comfortable managing documents, timelines, and meeting processes
Have good written communication skills and an eye for detail
Be willing to learn about British Cycling’s governance frameworks and apply them within the Region’s annual cycle
Be able to work collaboratively with the Regional Chair and Board members
Be committed to supporting cycling across the South East and helping the Region develop from grassroots participation to competitive opportunities
