Adhere to the principles of clinical governance and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to assist in providing the most efficient and effective level of service

BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association
One (1) year of Cardiac/Vascular OR experience required (Memorial Regional Hospital)
One (1) year of Surgical Technician experience required (Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital)
CVOR experience preferred
peds or vascular experience preferred

Job Responsibility

Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures in the cardiovascular operating room
Provides age and developmental appropriate care to infants, children, adolescents or adults
Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies
Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments
Travels outside the OR suite to assist with placing adult & pediatric patients on ECMO or other mechanical assist device
First scrub adult & pediatric complex vascular and cardiovascular procedures including transplants
Demonstrates proper sterile technique during procedure
Handoff to other crew members
Demonstrates accuracy and appropriate handling, labeling, and hand off to nurse of all specimens and cultures according to MHS policy
Verifies name of specimen with Physician
