Job Description:

We're looking for a highly motivated individual with an analytical and constructive mindset to join our APAC Safety Operations team. As a Regional Safety Program Manager, you will be part of the team that aims to make Uber the safest platform through industry-leading innovation, policies, and processes, while supporting the safe and sustainable growth of the Mobility and Delivery businesses. You will work with multiple cross-functional partners across Product, Operations, Community Operations, Legal, Policy and Comms teams both regionally and globally.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage product feature rollouts/improvements across 10 markets in APAC
  • Advocate for safety and compliance products/processes in the region
  • Manage and own safety controls
  • Proactively evaluate safety and compliance risk using data across the region
  • Develop strategies and initiatives to address identified gaps and known or emerging safety related risk patterns
  • Inform important strategic decisions
  • Design and implement processes to mitigate risks
  • Evaluate the economic and strategic costs and benefits of initiatives
  • Work with local teams and management to execute strategies
  • Manage and work with different cross-functional stakeholders across proactive initiatives as well as reactive incident response
  • Help transform the internal safety culture within Uber

Requirements:

  • Proactive, self starter with a keen interest in Safety & Compliance
  • Cross-functional program management experience
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to handle multiple ongoing projects
  • Strong analytical skills (SQL competency required)
  • Experience presenting data and findings
  • Experience making data driven decisions

Nice to have:

  • 3+ years of experience in trust and safety with a strong background in program management
  • Experience with consumer identity verification methods and identity compliance
  • Stakeholder management experience across multiple countries/regions
  • Ability to understand various XFN perspectives
  • Fluency in an APAC language (e.g. Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese)
