Focused, motivational and inspiring. Our Regional Paraplanning Managers are responsible for managing, motivating and developing our Paraplanners and Report Writers to prepare high quality written advice, and provide technical research services to the Private Client Advisers. You will work closely with the Operations Director, other Regional Paraplanner Managers and Senior Paraplanners, and in conjunction with key stakeholders across the business, to deliver an efficient and robust paraplanning service which meets the objectives of the Advisers, the needs of the business and adheres to Business Quality Standards at all times.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead, manage, develop, and motivate a team of Paraplanners and Report Writers to deliver exceptional support to Advisers, helping them meet fee income targets, fulfill client servicing commitments, and adhere to business quality standards
  • Oversee workflow between Advisers and the Paraplanning/Report Writing team, ensuring resource allocation aligns with business needs
  • Conduct regular one-to-one meetings and annual appraisals, setting clear objectives and individual development plans to support ongoing training and development
  • Provide high-quality paraplanning support to Private Client Advisers when required
  • Establish and promote consistent standards for the paraplanner role across regional offices
  • Ensure the production of compliant business by supervising the preparation of high-quality written advice and technical research, in line with the Company’s Business Quality Standards
  • Drive continuous improvement in the paraplanning function by evaluating processes, recommending enhancements, and implementing changes
  • Monitor and improve productivity and quality in line with KPIs and business objectives, while fostering a professional, motivated, and high-performing team culture
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the client service experience and increase adviser productivity through efficient paraplanner support, enabling Advisers to spend more time with clients
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements, including Treating Customers Fairly (TCF), Financial Crime Procedures, and other relevant policies

Requirements:

  • A confident and effective people manager with a proven ability to develop, motivate, and empower others
  • Ideally experienced in managing a large team of highly productive Paraplanners, with a track record of delivering results
  • Preferably has experience managing teams across multiple office locations
  • Extensive paraplanning experience within an IFA environment, with strong technical knowledge in pension transfers, investments, SIPPs, post-retirement planning, and inheritance tax planning
  • Strong IT skills, with proficiency in research tools—ideally including Financial Express
  • Able to balance commercial business needs with regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels
  • Capable of providing technical support and guidance to Report Writers and Paraplanners
  • In-depth understanding of financial services products and the wider financial planning landscape
  • Demonstrates the ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines effectively
