Job Description

Optegra has an exciting new job opportunity for an experienced Registered Optometrist to join our amazing and dedicated regional team. This role covers four hospitals across the region – Birmingham, Uttoxeter, Nottingham, and Leicester, and requires regular travel between sites. This is a great opportunity to join a forward-thinking business and benefit from our fantastic fully funded training and development programs. This is part-time position 28.5 hours a week across 3 days which are Mondays, Tuesdays and 1 additional day on a 12 month FTC.

Job Responsibility

  • Pre-operative & Post-operative NHS cataract assessments
  • Pre-operative & Post-operative Private Refractive surgery assessments
  • Out of hours emergency on call (evenings and weekends)
  • YAG capsulotomy consultation and treatment
  • Co-management of patients within a consultant led Medical Retina pathway
  • Co-management of patients within a doctor led Glaucoma pathway
  • Co-management of other ophthalmology pathways as they arise in the future

Requirements

  • Current GOC registration as a fully qualified optometrist, ideally with at least 2 yrs continuous registration
  • Previous hospital or refractive experience is ideal but not essential as full training will be provided
  • IP qualification is desirable but not essential
  • Experience of working to conversion targets and other business KPIs
