Champion safety and operational excellence while managing yard and traincrew activities. Drive continuous improvement to enhance service reliability, efficiency and customer outcomes. Lead, coach and develop your team to deliver safe, reliable and cost-effective rail services.

Job Responsibility:

  • Championing a proactive safety culture, aligned to our “I know SAFE, I choose SAFE” commitment
  • Managing allocated yard and traincrew operations to meet service demands
  • Implementing improvement initiatives to reduce asset cycle times and enhance train payloads
  • Ensuring effective crew levels to support scheduling and rostering
  • Building and maintaining positive working relationships with your team, including setting and monitoring performance and behavioural standards
  • Leading incident investigations and driving safety outcomes
  • Monitoring and reviewing locomotive download data to ensure optimal driving practice

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Frontline Management (preferred)
  • Strong safety leadership skills and knowledge, including experience with incident investigations (ICAM preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams, assigning tasks, and solving problems in operational settings
  • The ability to engage, coach and motivate team members while setting clear direction
  • A sound understanding (or the ability to acquire knowledge) of train handling, provisioning procedures, network route knowledge, safe working systems and crew deployment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and commercial awareness
