The Regional Nurse Consultant will support Skilled Nursing Facilities in the Des Moines, IA area.
Job Responsibility:
Overall support of the nursing departments for multiple facilities
Responsible for supporting the Director of Nursing and Administrator at each facility
Provide input on, and support for, the implementation of strong clinical systems
Support the development and implementation of quality assurance measurements and audits
Assist in improving medical management processes
Support the Director of Nursing for the provision of quality and appropriate resident / patient care
Assist in the preparation of annual budget for the facility
Monitor monthly performance of nursing services in relation to budget
Schedule and perform rounds to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care
Assist in Development and implementation of the written staffing plan and nursing schedule
Evaluate current and potential residents and patients to determine and maintain living center’s ability to provide appropriate level of care
Monitor, perform, and manage quality assurance processes
Function as a clinical resource to the nursing administration team at each facility
Provide training to staff nurses to promote performance improvement
Provide support during the survey process including pre-survey preparation and developing performance improvement plans post survey
Maintain regular and ongoing communication with the facility's Medical Director
Monitor daily Clinical Start-up meeting with the interdisciplinary team
Collect, review and analyze clinical outcome data and determine trends
Provide Support for clinical aspects of state or federal government survey processes
