Kanda is seeking a passionate and experienced leader to oversee our Residential Care & Support programs in Cairns and Far North QLD. As Regional Manager, you will hold accountability for the leadership, performance and quality of Kanda’s residential care programs across the region. This role is suited to an experienced leader who can balance operational excellence with people leadership in a complex, trauma-informed environment.
Job Responsibility:
Hold full regional accountability for service delivery, workforce performance and financial outcomes across Kanda’s residential programs
Provide strategic and visible leadership to multidisciplinary teams, including coaching senior staff and building leadership capability across the region
Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, trauma-informed services through effective oversight, risk management and continuous improvement
Lead regional compliance, incident and critical issue management, ensuring sound judgement, timely reporting and escalation where required
Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with government departments, community partners and other key stakeholders to support sustainable service delivery and positive outcomes for young people
Work closely with the General Manager to provide timely insights, performance reporting and strategic recommendations that support regional and organisational objectives
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience in youth services, residential care, child protection or a related human services environment at a senior operational or regional level
Proven capability leading multidisciplinary teams in complex, trauma-informed settings
Strong leadership presence with the ability to coach, influence and support leaders and frontline staff
Sound understanding of compliance, risk management and governance within the sector
Confidence managing operational and financial accountability across multiple sites
A relevant qualification (Certificate IV, Diploma or Degree) in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Social Work, Psychology, Education or a related discipline
Current or willingness to obtain Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
