Job Description:

The Regional M&A Consultant provides a comprehensive suite of deals services, including lead M&A advisory, financial due diligence, and valuation. This role is responsible for executing local and cross-border transactions across the full M&A deal cycle, serving large-scale firms and high-growth technology companies. The successful candidate will act as a strategic partner, bridging corporate strategies to operational execution and value realization.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead deal origination and screening of business targets to expand into new markets
  • Actively engage with potential investors, governmental ministries, and agencies to support ecosystem development
  • Conduct strategic assessments to identify growth opportunities via M&A or value realization via divestments
  • Perform high-quality financial assurance reviews to identify key deal issues, breakers, and potential misstatements
  • Evaluate earnings sustainability and conduct in-depth technical reviews of target financial records
  • Oversee the full project cycle from pre-engagement screening to final output, managing timelines, resources, and budgets
  • Build and refine advanced financial and scenario models to assess business viability, project funding requirements, and ROI
  • Apply various valuation techniques, including Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), sensitivity analysis, and comparable research
  • Generate investment theses and craft data-centric models to support complex transaction reviews
  • Assist stakeholders in negotiating pricing terms and assessing the impact of synergies on target pricing
  • Manage the collation and writing of critical deal documentation, including prospectuses and accountant’s reports
  • Provide strategic insights and integration planning to ensure transparent financial reporting and robust risk management post-acquisition

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting & Finance or a related field
  • Chartered Accountant (C.A. / MIA / CPA) and FMVA (Financial Modelling & Valuation Analyst) are highly preferred
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in lead M&A advisory, corporate finance, or external audit
  • Proven track record in handling complex capital fundraising and cross-border transactions within the SEA region
  • Expert proficiency in financial research tools such as Bloomberg Terminal, S&P Capital IQ, and Merger Market
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau
  • Fluency in English and Malay is required
  • proficiency in other regional languages is a distinct advantage
