The regional lead will oversee all project activities within assigned geography, including project management, permitting, environmental compliance (NEPA), cost/schedule control, risk management, and quality/safety.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as the single point of accountability for FAA stakeholders and airport authorities in the region, ensuring alignment with national program goals
Direct and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including project managers, permitting specialists, environmental coordinators, and safety officers
Develop and maintain regional execution plans, integrating scope, schedule, and budget across multiple concurrent airport projects
Monitor project performance using centralized dashboards, proactively identifying risks, delays, or compliance issues and driving corrective actions
Ensure adherence to FAA Orders, federal contracting requirements, and airport-specific protocols, including NEPA, safety, and security standards
Lead stakeholder engagement with FAA regional offices, airport authorities, and local permitting agencies to secure approvals and maintain operational continuity
Implement standardized SOPs, checklists, and compliance frameworks across all regional projects to ensure consistency and scalability
Report regularly to national program leadership on regional progress, risks, and mitigation strategies, providing executive-level visibility
Foster a culture of safety, quality, and accountability, ensuring all staff and subcontractors meet FAA and airport standards
Scale regional capacity by building and mentoring staff teams, preparing them to handle increased project volume under aggressive timelines
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, or related field
10+ years progressive experience in program operations, federal contracting support, or cross-functional leadership
Federal Project Management experience is desired
Project Management Professional certification is highly preferred
Strong leadership capabilities, with experience directing cross-functional teams in remote and on-site environments
Advanced communication skills with the ability to translate executive direction into operational execution plans
Ability to manage competing priorities, shifting timelines, and diverse stakeholder expectations
Proficiency in project management tools
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment requires discretion, adaptability, and federal compliance awareness
