The Regional Lead,Construction & Jobsite Safety for project execution will be a lead for Construction Management & Safety in the Americas region as part of our Global Engineering, Project Delivery Team, responsible for delivering capital projects from design through contract development, execution, and handover to commissioning and qualification. This role will also be accountable for implementing and maintaining construction safety strategies aligned with Sanofi’s Construction Safety Global Minimum Requirements (GMRs), and to coordinate at a strategic level with the Global Head of Construction Safety.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the Construction Management & Constriction Safety function across the Americas, overseeing applicable project delivery workstreams from design through execution and handover
  • Develop and implement construction strategies, delivery models, and resource plans to support capital projects of varying scale and complexity
  • Manage a team of construction professionals and site leads (internal and external), fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring alignment with project goals
  • Oversee contract administration and execution, including contractor selection, negotiation, and performance management
  • Ensure construction activities are executed in compliance with Sanofi’s Global Minimum Safety Requirements and local regulations
  • Develop and implement site-specific safety strategies and resourcing plans to support safe project execution
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance on construction sequencing and installation across all disciplines (MEP, Civil, Structural, Architectural)
  • Collaborate with Project Managers & E2E Leads, Engineering staff, HSE, Commissioning & Qualification, MMR, and Operations teams to ensure seamless project integration
  • Support Project Managers, governance, reporting, and stakeholder engagement across the Americas region
  • Contribute to global networks, share lessons learned, and participate in strategic initiatives as required
  • Travel within the Americas region to oversee project execution and team development
  • Considering the broad range of expertise, this resource should be able to pivot to directly support Project Management, Utilities, and Maintenance teams as directed and/or required

Requirements

  • Minimum B.S., Engineering or Industry related field, with experience relevant to biologicals and/or vaccines manufacturing, or with appropriate supplemental industrial experience
  • 5+ years of experience in construction management and/or project management with phases involving heavy construction within regulated industries (biotech, pharma, healthcare, oil & gas, or manufacturing)
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary construction teams and managing large-scale capital projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction delivery models, contract administration, and safety compliance
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business needs into execution plans
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proactive, adaptable, and solutions oriented
  • Committed to continuous improvement and innovation

Nice to have

  • Professional certifications such as PMP, or PE
  • 10+ years of experience in construction management and/or project management with phases involving heavy construction within regulated industries (biotech, pharma, healthcare, oil & gas, or manufacturing)
  • Certified Construction Manager or Safety Professional
  • Experience with cGMP environments and cleanroom construction
  • Familiarity with commissioning and qualification processes
  • Experience implementing safety programs across multiple sites or regions
