Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Regional Scale Operator to join our team. Under the direction of the Scale Operations Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing scale operations at different locations, ensuring accurate processing of inbound, outbound, and transfer tickets, and providing excellent customer service at the elevator. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to troubleshoot errors, and effective communication with various departments.

Job Responsibility

  • Operate all aspects of the scale, including weighing and grading of inbound, outbound, and transfer loads
  • Ensure accurate documentation of weights, grades, accounts, and freight charges
  • Travel to FS locations based on daily needs
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for scale-related inquiries, ensuring timely communication with settlement, origination, and operations teams
  • Assist with general customer service, including answering phones and providing information about elevator hours and ticket details
  • Utilize the Scale System effectively, generating reports and managing ticket processes from start to finish
  • Handle scale processes related to containers, ensuring proper documentation and assisting with paperwork when applicable
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Strong computer skills with the ability to manage digital and written records and reports
  • Proven experience working effectively with customers
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work independently and travel between locations
  • Flexibility to work extended hours when needed

Familiarity with cooperative philosophies and principles is a plus
