Job Description:

Supporting the Core Values of Passion, Teamwork and Excellence and under the direction of the EHS Director, the Regional EHS Manager is responsible for Health and Safety, Environmental Compliance, and Sustainability program performance of eastern region Food & Specialty plants, as well as support other H&S functional initiatives & projects.

Job Responsibility:

  • Regular site visits to eastern region plants (audits, status visits, incident investigation, training, etc.)
  • Where needed provides support in H&S activities, including (but not limited to): Trainings
  • Risk assessments
  • Implementation of standards and procedures (incl. ISO 45001 where relevant)
  • Internal audits (Trivium standard, other, etc.)
  • Cross audits and support to other operations when required
  • Developing Trivium standards and support documents
  • Arranging meetings
  • Monitor safety activities/systems
  • etc.
  • Challenges (Plant) Management in order to implement BU initiatives, reach the Trivium Safety Indicators and other relevant BU topics
  • Highlights areas of concern related to H&S with the Plant Managers and/or Manufacturing Director
  • Checking of quality of accident investigation management reports prior approving and provide continuous guidance where required
  • Supports and ensures a good quality of monthly H&S KPIs reported in management system
  • Provides input for annual PDR targets for plant management
  • Assists with Risk Management, Insurance, and Workers’ Comp issues where relevant
  • Develop, Initiate, maintain, and train on all EHS&S programs
  • Assist site with completion of and training on EHS&S related Standard Operating Procedures SOPs)
  • Analyze data to identify and prioritize continuous improvement of plant EHS&S Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Champion Sustainability data management and strategic initiative planning in line with Trivium long term targets
  • Serve as Environmental Management Representative for site ISO 14001 Management System
  • Assure compliance to all required environmental regulations (RCRA, DOT, EPA, State Agency)
  • Manage completion of all required internal and external environmental reports (e.g. Tier II, form R, bi-annual waste, Emission Inventory, etc.)
  • Update and maintain Environmental management plans (e.g. SWPPP, SPCC, HazWaste Contingency, Emergency Response Plan)
  • Establish proactive and cooperative relationships with safety and environmental regulatory agencies
  • Participate in Corporate System EHS audits periodically at varies sites
  • Shall understand the Food Safety Policy, GMP's, HACCP Principle and Food Safety Standard
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in managing EHS&S programs required
  • BS degree in relevant technical field required
  • Certification in either Safety (CSP), Industrial Hygiene (CIH), or HazMat (CHMM) preferred
  • Relevant knowledge of ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 standards
  • Exceptional written/verbal communication, training, and facilitation skills
  • Ability to lead a team, coach, train, mentor, and facilitate job tasks
  • Excellent people skills, high energy, and positive cultural fit
  • Ability to facilitate a cross-functional team
  • Ability to work with all levels of personnel and customers
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing practices
