Keep our operations moving across the region as a key part of our transportation team. As a Regional Driver, you will operate a tractor-trailer to safely and efficiently pick up and deliver freight between company and customer locations, supporting drop-and-hook and live load/unload operations. You will play a critical role in maintaining reliable delivery schedules while upholding all DOT regulations and company standards. This role is ideal for a safety-focused, dependable professional who takes pride in representing the Perdue Farms brand on the road and is comfortable traveling away from home for extended periods to help keep our supply chain running strong.
Job Responsibility:
Maneuver and deliver/backhaul truckloads of product and materials to plants, customers, and distributors as assigned
Observe and maintain all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements regarding hours of service, logbook, vehicle inspections, load inspections, and securing load
Operate a tractor and trailer in a legal/safe manner consistent with all Federal, State and Local laws, regulations, and Company policies
Complete and submit all Company paperwork to include but not limited to manifest, bill of lading, proof of delivery pay envelopes, overage, shortage, damaged claims, and trip reports
As assigned, the physical process of loading and unloading of products may be required
Responsible for seal/ security (trailer locked) integrity and the reporting of an accurate /verified case count and condition of product during deliveries
Perdue Transportation may require the driver to transport a load that is not in the driver’s normal scope, i.e. location, schedule, or customer to meet business needs
Requirements:
High School Graduate or GED
Minimum Two years over the road Tractor/Trailer driving experience with refrigerated trailers preferred
