Discovery Senior Living is hiring a Regional Director of Resident Care to support our communities in Missouri, Iowa, and Illinois, Louisiana, and Mississippi. The position provides guidance to the Clinical Department. Responsibilities for this key position will support consistent, safe, and effective nursing practice in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational standards. The position will advise by supporting the aspects and principles of a person-centered approach to care delivery with guidance through leadership, education, quality improvement and risk management to a small-scale portfolio. The position directly reports to the Vice President of Support Services.
Job Responsibility
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with appropriate agencies, community leaders, and businesses
implements and interprets the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department and provide analytical data on key performance metrics
identifies high-risk resident conditions or events and appropriate scalable responsive measures
develops and provides education to Regional Director of Resident Care and Resident Care Specialist
monitors the effectiveness of systems across departments
provides on-site and virtual support during company acquisitions
oversees the clinical quality assurance programs, survey readiness, risk mitigation measures, and regulatory policies and procedures
monitors the practice of resident care policies and procedures
guides the development and improvement of clinical policies, procedures, and programs
participates in review of incidents, accidents, and clinical risk scenarios
monitors timely entry of incidents and accidents in software programs
collaborates with all disciplines to reduce risk
serves as a champion and key educator for infection control and prevention program
guides regional team members with the management of infectious illnesses
monitors appropriate notification and involvement of public health departments
monitors adherence of resident pre-admission assessment process and clinical denial process
reviews of prospective and existing residents as needed
monitors and evaluates level of care assessments
supports a learning culture
participates in interview and selection process for key team members
assists with onboarding, orientation, and ongoing development
maintains a professional development system
takes initiative in developing nursing leadership skills
completes company required training
monitors training compliance
collaborates to develop and monitor staffing and labor budgets
participates in annual budget process
tracks regulatory outcomes
monitors effective implementation of quality improvement plans

Requirements
Registered Nurse in good standing, licensed by the state
Bachelor-level healthcare degree required
master's preferred
(5 or more) years senior living experience in a leadership role
BLS Certification
Experience in multi-state and multi-community support
