Job Responsibility

  • Empower a culture of safety, security, and compliance across all datacenter operations
  • Lead and develop a team of full-time employees and contractors, fostering accountability, growth, and high performance
  • Influence and drive alignment across dotted-line and matrixed resources ensuring cohesion and execution without direct authority
  • Own and govern the Data Center Design Change Management lifecycle - including intake, operational impact assessment, approval workflows, and change tracking
  • Champion field operations requirements through design reviews, construction, commissioning, and facility turnover - ensuring quality, reliability, availability, and safety standards are met
  • Establish structured feedback loops between field operations and peer teams to embed lessons learned into datacenter design and construction practices
  • Develop and maintain site transition readiness frameworks with clear acceptance criteria, milestone gates, and go/no-go decision standards
  • Assess and validate operational readiness at turnover, including staffing levels, training certifications, SOPs, and tooling
  • Drive a seamless onboarding experience for newly launched facilities into field operations
  • Partner with Datacenter Operations Directors to ensure SOPs are accurately documented and training handoffs are executed with precision timing
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks across transition and onboarding lifecycles, partnering cross-functionally to protect service delivery and commissioning timelines
  • Manage escalations by driving timely resolutions with minimal operational impact
  • Foster stakeholder alignment through clear communications, engagement, and governance across the integration of owned and leased facilities
  • Define, track, and report OKRs across all three programs - providing leadership visibility into program health, risks, and outcomes

Requirements

  • High School Qualification or equivalent AND 10+ years experience of mission-critical service management (e.g., providing IT services, manufacturing, warehouse, retail, military, or managing physical operations in an IT and/or critical environment infrastructure) OR equivalent experience
  • 3+ years people management experience
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

  • Bachelor's or Technical College Degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field AND 15+ years experience in enterprise-level experience managing large scale and complex projects/programs, or critical environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU), or working in physical IT infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling) OR High School Qualification or equivalent AND 17+ years experience in enterprise-level experience managing large scale and complex projects/programs, or critical environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU), or working in physical IT infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling) OR equivalent experience

  • Applicable certifications: APICS/Inventory Control, CompTIA, Microsoft, Network Certifications, CCNA Certifications, ITIL v3 Foundation, Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF) Certifications, Leadership Development Certifications, PMP, CDCMP
  • Demonstrated experience in data center design, construction, and infrastructure operations and experience in planning and executing data center transformational programs
  • Experience with design of next generation data center networks, enabling cloud computing including technologies such as network virtualization, unified network fabric, and software defined networks
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial management, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Experience with IT Service Operations fundamentals and principles (ITIL, MOF, OLA/SLA, CSI, etc.)
  • Project or program management experience/certifications (e.g. Six Sigma, Kaizen, PMI, etc.)
  • 10+ years' business management and leadership experience in a production datacenter environment or related experience
