Job Responsibility:
Assist in covering Chef Manager positions at home level where there are vacancies, annual leave or extended periods of absence
Oversee and be responsible for all kitchen team members in the preparation, cooking and delivering the full dining experience
Work in conjunction with other departments within the home to ensure the overall culinary experience is consistently delivered to a high standard
Provide supervision, mentoring and coaching for all kitchen team members
Ensure all food safety & health & safety documentation is up to date and completed
Manage, co-ordinate and oversee the kitchen Rota for all catering team members
Oversee food purchasing and deliveries using nominated suppliers
Prepare and cook all daily meals for residents, and provide catering for special occasions and events
Cater for all resident nutritional needs such as special diets and allergies
Flexibility and creativity to develop specials menus meeting resident requirements
Requirements:
Experience as a Chef in a Care Home environment
NVQ’s in Cooking, Food Hygiene and Health and Safety
IDDSI Training and knowledge of textured modified diets
A full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle
