Job Responsibility:

  • Assist in covering Chef Manager positions at home level where there are vacancies, annual leave or extended periods of absence
  • Oversee and be responsible for all kitchen team members in the preparation, cooking and delivering the full dining experience
  • Work in conjunction with other departments within the home to ensure the overall culinary experience is consistently delivered to a high standard
  • Provide supervision, mentoring and coaching for all kitchen team members
  • Ensure all food safety & health & safety documentation is up to date and completed
  • Manage, co-ordinate and oversee the kitchen Rota for all catering team members
  • Oversee food purchasing and deliveries using nominated suppliers
  • Prepare and cook all daily meals for residents, and provide catering for special occasions and events
  • Cater for all resident nutritional needs such as special diets and allergies
  • Flexibility and creativity to develop specials menus meeting resident requirements

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Chef in a Care Home environment
  • NVQ’s in Cooking, Food Hygiene and Health and Safety
  • IDDSI Training and knowledge of textured modified diets
  • A full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle
