The Regional Campaigns, Communications and Strategy Lead is responsible for the development and delivery of strategic campaigns and communications with clear vision and objectives across the Asia Pacific region and in support of ITF’s organisational priorities and campaigns.
Job Responsibility:
Developing, delivering and evaluating forward-thinking communication strategies and messaging for the region, targeting diverse audiences including workers, unions, allies, media, policymakers, and the public
Coordinate campaign planning with Regional leadership and Organisers to ensure alignment with organisational priorities and regional opportunities
Lead the development of regional messaging frameworks, media strategies and political
Establish systems to monitor and evaluate campaign reach, media coverage, political impact and movement engagement
Work closely with the Communications department in Head Office to ensure global coherence and visibility
Contribute to the development of regional work plans and strategic
Any and all duties as directed by the General Secretary and Regional Secretary to meet the needs of the organisation up to including redeployment to other sections, regions and departments
Requirements:
Proven experience in communications, media and/or campaigning within the trade union movement, civil society, NGO or comparable advocacy environment
Demonstrable experience of designing, delivering and evaluating strategic campaigns
Experience of working with diverse stakeholders, including unions, allies, media and policymakers
Experience of working in complex, multicultural and international environments
Excellent written and verbal communication and storytelling skills
Ability to communicate effectively across cultures and with diverse audiences
Strong planning and organisational skills, including managing multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work under pressure and meet competing deadlines
Strong coordination and relationship-management skills
Ability to monitor and evaluate campaign and media impact
Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and sound judgement
Good understanding of trade union, labour rights and social justice campaigning
Understanding of strategic communications, media relations and political advocacy
Awareness of regional and global political contexts affecting transport workers and unions
Commitment to the values and objectives of the ITF and the trade union movement

Fluency in spoken and written English
