The Regional Buyer is responsible for indirect sourcing and direct material tail‑spend activities for a defined sub‑region, country, or business unit. The role balances strategic sourcing initiatives with hands‑on procurement execution, ensuring compliance, cost optimization, and strong supplier performance across Owens Corning sites.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead complex sourcing activities for indirect materials, services, and direct material tail spend, including tenders, negotiations, and supplier selection
  • Drive sourcing productivity initiatives and cost‑reduction opportunities while safeguarding supply continuity

  • Ensure SOX compliance and adherence to all sourcing and procurement processes
  • Initiate and manage supplier performance assessments and corrective actions when required
  • Act as a liaison between plant operations, MRO buyers, category leaders, and external suppliers
  • Influence plant leadership teams through data‑driven insights, policies, and sourcing best practices
  • Understand site‑specific operational constraints and proactively shape sourcing outcomes
  • Support and guide plant MRO buyers in executing pre‑negotiated contracts and procurement activities
  • Analyze spend and cost drivers to identify value creation and productivity opportunities
  • Track and report sourcing outcomes, including value creation initiatives (VCIs)
  • Drive process improvements to eliminate non‑value‑added work using digital procurement platforms
  • Ensure proper documentation, standard work, and back‑up coverage for responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Regional Buyers and Purchasing Managers to share best practices and build European synergies
  • Translate regional and global category strategies into actionable priorities within the assigned scope
  • Build effective working relationships across functions, cultures, and geographies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain roles preferred
  • Fluent written and spoken English (additional regional languages are an advantage)
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office tools
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10–20% within the region
What we offer:
  • A role with regional impact in a truly international environment
  • Opportunity to grow within a purpose‑driven, sustainability‑focused organization
  • Collaboration with experienced sourcing, category, and plant teams across Europe
