Job Description

As Global Sales, Fuel Supply Systems, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of Alfa Laval’s FSS business within your assigned region. Your mission is to empower local sales companies, ensuring Alfa Laval is the preferred partner for shipyards and ship owners building new vessels. You will act as the central expert on regional market dynamics, strategy, and business development, collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve ambitious growth targets.

Job Responsibility

  • Foster strong communication, networking, and teamwork with regional sales companies to drive FSS sales
  • Build and maintain relationships with shipyards, ship owners, and key market players to secure new business opportunities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive regional business plan, identifying short- and long-term growth opportunities
  • Actively participate in daily sales projects, supporting sales teams throughout the sales cycle
  • Continuously gather and analyze market and competitor information to inform strategy and decision-making
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Fuel Supply Systems for both conventional and alternative fuels
  • Provide input on target pricing, alarm thresholds, and special pricing requests
  • Identify new business opportunities, contribute to go-to-market strategies, and support product launches
  • Provide day-to-day support to sales teams, identify competence gap and training need, ensuring high-quality customer engagement
  • Participate in the development of processes to enhance sales effectiveness and quality.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in the marine industry, with a strong commercial orientation
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships and networks both internally and externally
  • Excellent team player who fosters collaboration and motivates others
  • Self-driven, proactive, and able to work independently
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on approach to business development.

  • Partner with fulfillment leadership to understand operational decisions and their financial implications, while identifying opportunities for efficiency and cost improvement
  • Support the development, validation, and tracking of transportation cost-saving initiatives to ensure benefits are clearly defined and realized
  • Serve as a liaison with finance to ensure transportation performance is clearly reflected in the P&L, including gap analysis and corrective actions as needed
  • Own and manage freight accrual data from systems such as Trax / D2L, leveraging analytical models and dashboards
  • Oversee freight pay and accrual processes, including month-end close support, variance analysis, and true-up activities
  • Audit freight invoices to ensure accuracy, adherence to contracted rates, and timely resolution of discrepancies
  • Collaborate with finance to strengthen controls that ensure financial accuracy, audit readiness, and compliance with internal policies
