Job Description

The Regional Director of Clinical and Operational Performance is responsible for assisting the Nursing Leaders in defining, planning, developing, implementing and evaluating process and project initiatives to achieve clinical and operational efficiencies at the facility level. The role requires a change agent, with the ability to energize staff, leaders, and providers. With a focus on clinical analytics, labor management, operations and clinical excellence, the Director is a resource to facility wide leadership. Under the direction of the System Director, responsible for the ongoing development and roll-out of Patient Care Services productivity standards in support of nursing and other ancillary services. The Regional Director focuses on clinical operational needs to support and improve efficiencies in the deliverance of patient care. Working with the System Director, demonstrates an ability to translate strategy to operational performance. Requires leadership experience and knowledge regarding the functions, processes, data driven metrics and synergies that contribute to clinical, operational, and financial performance. As a member of the Operations Performance Group, fosters an innovative and motivational work environment in the pursuit of excellence in patient care and operations. Serves as a resource and works collaboratively with other areas within CommonSpirit Health, including but not limited to Patient Care Services, and Clinical Operations, Integration & Optimization. Well developed organizational skills required, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. The Regional Director must have the ability to prioritize, plan and execute. Well developed management skills are needed, with an emphasis on clinical analytics, interpersonal communication and team dynamics. Functions as a role model by providing leadership and mentoring for subordinates, applicable system committees, and leaders within assigned projects. Must remain flexible and be comfortable with ambiguity within a very demanding, constantly changing environment. The ability to operate skillfully within all levels of the organization and lead in a team-oriented environment is necessary to undertake the strategic initiatives defined by system leadership. Display sound judgment, tact, discretion, and ability to develop and sustain a cooperative working relationship with all levels of employees, physicians and customers. This high level of responsibility requires excellent management skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex issues to all levels of leadership. Frequent travel (up to 50%) may be needed to CommonSpirit Health facilities including clinics and partner organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a Healthcare related field
  • Masters in Health care related field of business preferred
  • Three to five (3-5) years of directly related experience
  • including a min of three years progressively responsible leadership and managerial experience
  • Prior experience in a clinical leadership role preferred
  • Ten Plus (10+) years directly related experience working in a leadership capacity
  • Five years in a large,complex organization
  • Healthcare experience strongly preferred
  • Strong background of accomplishment in leading/directing efforts of a comparably sized entity with a vision of customer preferred
