Job Responsibility:

  • Maintains, repairs, rebuilds and adjusts refrigeration, boiler and compressed air equipment
  • Operate and maintain the ammonia refrigeration systems and its related equipment by adhering to Standard Operating Procedures and Perdue Safety Procedures
  • Diagnose system problems and make repairs
  • Make repairs generated from work orders
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and environmental laws
  • Ensure compliance with the complex Process Safety Program
  • Maintain records for their retention period requirements to ensure safe, effective and efficient operations
  • Perform proper operations and PMs of Boilers, Compressors and Ventilation systems

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with strong reading, communications, math, writing, and analytical skills
  • 2 -4 years experience
  • Must pass operator certifications CARO and/or CIRO
  • Must be able to read and use dial gauges, micrometers, etc. in the alignment of motors, pumps, etc. experience in ammonia or Freon refrigeration, boiler operations and compressed air
  • Must be able to pass a physical and meet requirements for a HAZMAT team member
  • Must pass a pulmonary test and SCBA fit test annually
  • Must be able follow procedures and demonstrate an understanding of PSM requirements and Safety programs such as LOTO, Hot work permit, Confined space, Emergency Shut Down, HAZMAT, Hearing conservation, & PPE
  • Must be able to attend outside training

Nice to have:

  • Associate degree in Industrial Refrigeration
  • Prior Ammonia Refrigeration experience
