Job Responsibility

  • Perform basic repairs and preventive maintenance on refrigeration and HVAC equipment
  • Identify and diagnose issues with refrigeration and HVAC controls systems
  • repair self-contained cases and repair rooftop HVAC units of all types
  • demonstrate knowledge of secondary glycol racked systems as well as conventional DX racked systems
  • Work effectively with a team, assisting other personnel as necessary to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers
  • determine best practices for repair work and assess downtime with store personnel
  • Create and maintain preventative maintenance records on all equipment serviced
  • maintain truck inventory
  • Deliver incredible service to both internal and external customers, and maintain Wegmans high standards of quality and food & human safety procedures

Requirements

  • 5 or more years related work experience
  • Technical training through apprenticeship, RSES, trade school, or equivalent work experience
  • EPA Universal Certification
  • Proficient with the use of a laptop computer, possessing the ability to maintain, troubleshoot and operate building management systems, on board control systems, and manufacturer’s PLC based control systems
  • Sound mechanical ability, as well as knowledge of welding and plumbing

Nice to have

  • Supermarket/restaurant related equipment experience, including knowledge of applicable codes, regulations and operating standards is preferred
  • Independent ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical systems is preferred
