Job Description

Baptist Health is hiring a Referrals Coordinator for our Urology department at Baptist Nassau, located in Fernandina Beach, FL. This is a full-time day-shift opportunity Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. As the Referrals Coordinator, you will primarily interact with staff, patients, internal departments, physician practices and insurance companies to obtain maximum reimbursement through established authorization procedures and order entry. You will be responsible for securing medication authorizations, infusion authorizations, and injectable authorizations for two providers. You will work and communicate with the Provider's team to enable minimal turnaround times for patient care. This position requires a candidate who has previous referrals and healthcare experience, as well as excellent customer service skills. This is a beautiful location to work at with ample parking options!

Job Responsibility

  • Tracking referrals to avoid duplications, to ensure completion, and to verify documentation is in EMR
  • Providing referral assistance to physicians, patients, and insurance companies
  • Accurately completing verification of insurance benefits and authorizations using online tools and/or direct contact with insurance carriers
  • Registering patients in a timely, accurate, and professional manner which reflects the core values of Baptist Health
